Restoration of koshirae gunto for katana
Lightweight makie and gold leaf. The rotting wood sections were removed from the original koshirae and replaced with new magnolia inserts. The kurigata was also rebuilt as it is missing. Once the reconstruction work was completed, the saya was lacquered and finished with a light makie and with the application of gold leaf details. To maintain a link with the previous appearance of the frame, the koiguchi was kept from the original koshirae.
