Pair of silver menuki

They depict a pair of tigers in an offensive attitude. The menuki were made for tachi and therefore of important dimensions. Although traditionally conceived for dragons, the iconography that inspired the artist in making the tigers is warrior / military and both menuki have legs with three claws. There are countless representations of tigers in the Japanese tradition, very different from each other. In this case, the two menuki are inspired by antique prints and kakejiku
